Re: Deflasking Paph rothschildianum

I had a flask of 'teacup' paphs that I found impossible to disentangle and had to compot with about 7 per compot. They seemed joined together. They seem to be doing well but I hate to think what's going to happen when I have to individually pot. I read that it took someone 4 hours to unravel the roo...

Chingruey's Fancy x speciosa

New cross. Not really evident but 2 petals reflexed forward , exactly like the speciosa parent when I had them side by side. Colour and size more like CRF. Light fragrance, leaning towards unpleasant. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170402/49f767b2e5c171d467e7458e37e746d5.jpg Sent from my LG-H901...

Re: Phalaenopsis Tying Shin Fly Eagle 'Wilson'

I thought 'Wilson' was a clone of the one that has separately coloured petals ? If it is a clone, why is this then different as I thought cloning was reliable in producing offspring exactly the same as the parent ?

Re: Getting Phrags to bloom

I transferred all my phrags - sedenii var blush, schroderae and Paul Eugene Conroy to deep cymbidium-type pots ( see Chula ) and used a mix as follows : bottom third composted horse manure, the rest about 20% sphagnum and 80 % small orchiata mix. They are in a south-facing window and go outdoors in ...

this has 4 buds/blooms this year. For the past 3 years I'd have been lucky to get 1.

TQ's Red Spice

Parents are speciosa 'C1' x Cranberry Queen. Very fragrant blooms - with colours ranging from orangey-red through wine-red. Too early to tell whether these will be continuous bloomers but should be with that parentage. However there is something odd happening. Some of the blooms have a peloric anthe...

Re: Speciosa/Tetraspis C1 Hybrid

first bloom. Highly fragrant. In this one - the only one so far out of the group spiking - the stems on the blooms are spotted. Never seen that before and its highly attractive. Not sure if its visible on the photo but there is an attempt at randomness on the one petal. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.c...
