That's not likely. I suspect most are waiting to submit one photo on Mar-15, myself included - thinking that I have a few more days to take new pictures of recent bloom. If not I might use ones I took earlier this year like Liu's Bright Ruby.

Well, if Peter is wrong (which I hope he is not!) then I would guess that everyone would vote for that one photo! I think that is called a sure thing!

I'm pretty sure Peter got it on the money. I myself am waiting till the last possible day to send in a photo so that my phals have more time to open up their buds. :)

Same for me. Lots in spike/bud, not much in flower.

Hi all -
It's okay that you pick a good photo you took earlier in January or February. That's what I plan to do if I dont' have a better photo between now and March-15.
I want to submit photos of my favorite plants. One of my phal gigantea has half of its flowers open. It dosen't have many flowers yet but I am partial to PHal gigantea.

Do photos need to be taken this year? Can I submit a photo from a previous year's blooming?

Thanks,
Jeanne

Darn! In the rush of getting ready for my ski trip, I ran out of time and didn't get to take pictures of my orchids for the contest in time. Just put in my vote for the March photos. :)

Remember there will be monthly contests for the next 5 or 6 months. You still have time unless you are skiing for 6 months.

LOL. I actually wouldn't mind skiing for the next few months. I finally was able to get down the bunny slope without falling. I was so proud of myself. Up until my 6 year old started doing circles around me and went down the green slope and left me in his snow dust.

Those darn little critters (a.k.a. children)! While another is struggling to keep standing up-right on the skis these miniature versions of humans just blast past oneself causing one to fall over from the mere wind pressure. Imagine I was one of those at one point in time...
