Hi all,
I'm sad to say that our community has lost a great friend. I'm still in disbelief as I found out today. Carol left us on Oct 18 in her sleep.
Carol is a kind person who surrounded herself with friends and critters. She will be missed by many. I'm fortunate to have met her in person. I will always remember her sourdough bread and her kind smiles.
May her rest in peace.

Carol's family and friends setup this Facebook memorial page for her here

Here is a picture of me and Carol taken couple years ago

Oh no. Was just thinking she hadn't posted lately as I was looking at Paraphalaenopsis on Alain's site. She was a wonderful and kind lady and so encouraging to me as a new grower.

Hope her horses, dogs, and orchids find good homes.

The orchid world has lost a beautiful lady.

RIP Carol, you will be missed.

A very sad day indeed. We talked regularly on facebook about various things- orchids, dogs, politics, horses, you name it.
We swapped plants, shared growing tips and laughed.
I'm going to miss her terribly. A lot of people and critters are.

Just heard of this as well. She will truly be missed as a source of expertise and witty banter. A sad day for friends, orchids, and all her critters. Missed but not forgotten. *raise a glass*

RIP. I will miss her contributions to the forum. I did not know her personally, but anybody who loves orchids and lots of critters is alright by me.

This was one of Carol's favorite Bach pieces that she introduced me to:

We were also shocked and overwhelmed by sadness last night when we went to bed (very late our time). Read it on FB and couldn't believe it ...
We loved to chat with Carol on FB and enjoyed her posts here in the forum. She will be missed by many friends, family and all her "babies" - hope they all find a good, new home...I felt so honored when Carol asked me if it is fine for me when she names her doggie "Sylvi"...Missing her already...
