It's official. I got permission from Lyndon to name this hybrid after Carol.
Judy Darnell will ship this plant to me. We will do stem prop, and selfing so that we will have enough to keep this hybrid going in Carol's memory.

Phalaenopsis
Carol Darnell {Phal.} Lyndon KT Glory x {Phal.} Lyndon Jade Agate Big Leaf Orch.
(Lyndon Lin)

That's wonderful to hear, Peter. A really touching tribute and what a great phal as well. You guys are awesome!

Peter, so great news!!! Somehow I must get one of this cross for our collection...Need to get one over there...
Penanggirl, wonderful, well said words!

...I found a chat with Carol, where she wrote, that it is really a blessing to be able to die during sleep...for both, humans and animals... I had to cry when I read this but I'm also happy that she could leave us the way she wanted - even if it is way too early...

Naming that cross for her was an excellent idea to remember her by.

Wow that was fast!!!!! I'm so glad it worked out. Carol would just be so honored and I bet perplexed. Lol. She was such a no nonsense gal should be all, "why'd you all do that for?!" Lol. What a sweetheart.

I'm reading this very sad new only tonight.

Carol will for sure be missed by many friends. May she rest in peace...

It's great Peter that you was able to name this hybrid after her.

Once the stem props are ready, and distibuted, I sure that Carol would be thrilled to watch from above, one or more of us get Phal Carol Darnel the aos awards it has always deserved..

Thanks everyone. I will do my best to distribute this hybrid.

I got the plant back this weekend. It was packed very well. This plant is still in flower - it has been in flower since April when I saw it in Taiwan. It was a selected plant kept in Mituo greenhouse.

Besides stem prop - I am going to try to find other selected flowers of this hybrid to make sib crosses.

This way we can have both seedlings and stem props.
