 Post subject: Setting up heat mat again, very cold today

It's below freezing all day. I have heat mat set up in my greenhouse This is large size heat mat by hydrofarm, each 48x60 inch will accommodate 4 nursery trays of 10x20

They do make a difference. Moss is warm to touch sitting on top of the heat mat. I have not yet verified this but it adds up to 10 degree F. My only concern is that the moss may dry out too quickly and would require frequent watering if greenhouse humidity is low. This shouldn't be a problem if I can splash some water under bench twice a day.

This is what I find out. I'm using Jump Start thermostat to regulate heater. It turns off when remote probe is 79F. You can set this temperature

Air temperature in my greenhouse is 65F. With remote probe inserted into moss. Temperature is 76F.
