Peter have you gotten the commentary from the judges on the AQ back yet? I'd love to hear what they thought about it overall.

Fantastic! Congratulations to Peter and the Brendenburgs!!

Josh, according to the online version of AQ+, there have been 98 Award of Quality awards to Phals.

Wow, that's a lot more rare than I thought.

Peter, do you know if there are any plans for stem props of any of theses awarded plants? I'm sure the interest would be pretty high.

No I don't. They want to enjoy these flowers then to cut the spike for stem props. If anything would be 2-4 years from now. I originally made this cross in 2006. Flasks were for sale in 2008 at IPA symposium in Dallas.

Instead of remaking this cross, I would make something similar. I have Phal Katie Morris 'Peter Lin' in flower. Back then I used it to carry seedpod because its flower is larger and plant is more vigorous than pollen parent.

It takes about 2 years for a new cross to be available in flask. Another year or two for first plant to bloom, and yet another year to flower it well for award consideration.

That's a great question! Any clue on your part peter that they were going for it? Also any idea if this is your (as hybridizer) first AQ attempt?

No I was in Taiwan. Meir and Olie were not at the judging when this group was shown for AQ consideration.
I did talked to Jerry previously that he should go for an AQ. He agreed with me since they have enough plants from one flask. Good for them to keep all the plants.

is this the first aq for your cross's, quite an accomplishment, not only for the breeder, for the grower as well, its incredibly diffucult for the grower, to get 12+ simultaneous bloomers, that are all great.. nice job brandenburgs...
do you know what there awarded plant scored?

Congratulations Peter ! That is surely a hybridizer's dream come true ! You well deserve it ! And I guess the Kate Morris comes from the Nortons, if I am not mistaken, which makes the award even nicer ! Congrats and please keep up the good hybridizing work !
Cheers 1
Luiz.
