Do you know that the highest flower count in AOS award record for Phal. gigantea 'Laurie Weltz' is 139 flowers, 81 buds (total 220 ) that received CCM/AOS in 1993. The more recent CCE/AOS to P. gigantea 'Roman' has 126 flowers, 17 buds (total 143 ) was awarded in 2004.

It's just so awesome to see my favorite phalaenopsis species can produce this many flowers. I'm so inspired to do a better job to grow my phal. gigantea now.

'Roman' gets 91 points for CCE/AOS. Too bad that I'm not an orchid judge, or I would give this plant 100 points for CCE/AOS. Now the difficult task is how to transport this plant safely to the closest judging center that is over 500 miles (8 hours) away. Best of luck to Ken. I don't envy the task ahead to spend hours to get this inside of his truck. height wise, this plant won't fit in a large SUV.

In the past, I have heard of AOS judges making trip to orchid grower's house on rare occasions. But Ken doesn't live near a judging center.

Ask Ken for his permission, they are his photos. Ken said that he will try to get us a better photos taking during the day light.

I'm thinking that we need a special page to display this awesome plant. I need something like this to keep me motivated.

I thought i asked you, because you posted it.

Ken, do you have any objections that i post your photo in a german forum? There are a lot of people, which are interested in Phals, too, but only a few are reading in this forum.
The more i look at this giga, the mor i am fascinated ;) So good growing!

Martin, Atlas,
I am ok with you posting the pictures of this plant on your forum as long as you give me credit as the plant owner etc. I am glad you enjoy viewing the plant. Plant is approx 54 inches in length from edge of pot to the tip of longest bloom spike.
