Goodmorning guys, I have a timing question. I have had this Phal. lobbii since about Feb. and it has begun a spike, but it began a month ago and this is a pic of the progress so far. You can see the spike just left of the center. How long does it usually take for this species to produce the spike? It doesn't seem to be in any hurry![img][img][album]

Hi Kip,
You will find some species that will initiate spike - but stop when condition is not favorable. Phal lobbii tend to flower from Feb to Jun in Northern Hemisphere. What I suspect is that your plant aborted the flowering cycle after it detected a change of environment. It should resume flowering this coming season.

Peter

Well, patience must be a virtue after all. First bloom on this seedling from LOC. The lip is so cute and wiggles in the breeze like a bulbo!
