This is supposed to be one of my favorites, Phal (Paifang's Auckland x Black Eagle) 'Peter'

Found this plant crown rot today. All the leaves fell off. Very sad. I now wish that I used clay pot to plant this. Not sure why the moss got so wet without me noticing it.

Aw, I'm sorry. Losing any phal, especially a favorite, stinks.

Sorry about the miscue. I just lost my Caribbean Sunset to crown rot and I think I am responsible for it. We have a big Gongora hanging at the end of the table to help shade the phals. My husband always removes the basket to water but it is very heavy and I water it in place. I'm sure I sprayed water into the crown and didn't notice it :>( It looked funky one week and the next week, leaves in my hand.

I have a pot full of great looking roots and will hope for a basal keiki. I won't toss it until the roots curl up and die/turn brown or whatever roots do when they have no leaves.
