Sorry, guys, if I didn't read the posting instructions correctly...I tried to just add these to my previous post but is says five images are the maximum, so herewith a new post altogether, with these notes:

This is another F1706, bellina [('blue wide petals') x 'Joy']. Vigor on this one is also quite something. On first bloom, it made two spikes and tried to BRANCH on the larger spike, but the branch stalled). All of these photos are first-bloomers in itty-bitty pots. As mentioned earlier, imagine what plants from this strain will look like when they are well established in 8" pots...bravo, Sir Peter of Texas!

This particular one opened with a very strongly "geometric" look (the photo with the red Phal. Cherry Wine 'Newberry'), but then, like most of us in Florida now, it slumped its shoulders in the heat 8) . (See the solo mug shot for those results). Still, the color is rather interesting, at least to my eyes. Also, 5cm horizontal natural spread on first bloom...

If I can get it to flower in less oppressive heat, perhaps the more muscular look will return (I would not have thought that I would have liked such a posture, but seeing it in person...I kinda like it...has that somewhat iron-pumping-gym-rat look to it).

Best to all,
Walton

These are from Peter's Rock-Star cross.

'#2' is rising in my estimation as it continues to make well-balanced flowers...and keeps pumping out more buds.

Nonetheless, '#3' is still a horse of a grower; the largest I have flowered from the cross (6cm HNS) and darkest.

I just noticed today that probably one of the last to flower of the first bloomers this year is trying really hard to branch from the lower node -- that makes two plants from this outcross with that level of vigor.

Bravo, Peter.
