Hi Sylvi
Which cross was that?
The color is very nice and saturated.
Form is pretty good too. Like the yellow contrast.
If you stem this put me on the list.
I travel to Europe once/twice a year.
Again congrats.
Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel,
This one comes from a asian nursery (I asked which but haven't got answer yet) - it is Norton strain of course, I will try to find out which clone(s) have been used.
You need to tell me how to do the stemming ;) - then I can try.
But it is really that dark indigo, like dark blue ink. Everytime I come into our orchidroom I'm suprised how blueish it is. And it has got the great Norton violacea scent. All in all a keeper!!!

Adrienne - send me your address :)

Thank you Sylvi. That would be great to have the parents info from the original breeder.
Here is a link from Rob Shepherd where he describes the media for the stem prep:

http://orchidvault.com/node/70

The important thing is to have enough space before and after the node (difficult on short spikes)
So you can clean up easily (mold removal, bacteria... and all the junk
that will of course grow faster that anything else in the media).

Dam it, I wish I had a little portable flow hood to bring with me to Germany right now.
Once again, congrats and enjoy the flowers.
Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel,

Thank you for the info, I will see what I can do ;)
A flow hood would be a great help 8)

The plant comes from Miki Orchids, maybe you, Peter or someone else here can find out more about the parents. Maybe I can get a "nursery code"... I will try :)

Phal. violacea 'Bonnie Blue' x 'Blue Chip' (Schwerter) :
Image

Nice flower. But I was plagued by vague doubts about the presence of Norton strain in it. It's more like regular Samera, not even 'blue'. 'Bonnie Blue' x 'Blue Chip' without any blue, just 'Bonnie Chip' ))
What do you think?

Hi Sylvi
These are beautiful!

From which nursery did these originate in China?
Thanks
Mark

Hi - yes, this is REALLY the color ;) - and I haven't "tuned" the photos - I don't know for sure - but I suppose these were coming from Miki Orchids.

Oh, I didn't mean to question the color. Just meant it's incredible - and beautiful!
