Folks,
I know that a lot of you do not belong to IPA but, there is a 4 part series of studies in which Dr. Wang participated that do have applications for hobbyists. The first part has already been printed in the IPA but you can access them from the following links from 2005's The Orchid Grower Publication.

Thanks for posting these, Jim!

Interesting that in one of the articles (where he presents a simplified method for spike induction), light levels are kept constant (from 500-1500 fc) and the only thing changed are temps.
