Just fantastic!!! Thanks for the update Peter. How do you get the little plants off of the plaque. I think you told me that you removed about 10 of them. Did they survive? Jeff

That was last year. I sold 3 small compots. I didn't save any because I have more on this plaque. Sure. Roots can be severed to get the seedlings out. If we can grow rootless plants. What's a few broken roots?

Those look very healthy. Has it ever happened again on any of your plaques?

This was a happy accident. I haven't tried on other plaque yet. I did try to sprinkle some seeds in pot but lost track of what. I need to check my date and figure out how many month for germination. I don't have space to keep failed attempts around.

this is amazing and a great pictorial history.
I really think that you need to do a write-up in some relevant journal or magazine ( if you haven't already ).
To think that these days we need to artificially propagate and this all happened naturally. Wow !

I chop off the mother plant and move it to a new tree fern plaque. I also carefully remove 3 seedlings

That is really awesome. When I first posted on this thread back in 2008, I wasn't sure that they would have survived since they were stuck so close together. But you did a great job Peter. They look amazing and growing well.

I've never doubted that it will survive, but My question is How are you going to separate the seedlings? If the mother plant was potted and you sow the seeds on the pot it would be an easy job to separate them when it was getting crowded but when on mount...

I've had the same thing happen. I purchased an Epibator about 1 year ago and a few months after I got it started to grow some odd coloured leaves ends up two diffrent kind of lepanthes started to grow.
I spoke to the vendor I got it from and he stated he had those two seeds pods explode on the other side of the greenhouse
