I have never frozen pollen before; only refrigerated, but I think I've read a couple of comments on this forum from growers who successfully froze pollen...but I cannot find those posts.

What do you think works better: freeze, refrigerate, or something else altogether?

I have a small spike starting on LD's Bear Queen 'Brass' here at the end of October, of all times, and I cannot fathom anything being nearly in flower before the plant goes out of bloom, so I hope to be able to store pollen at least until early "novelty" season, if not all the way into full-season.

Any advice would be much appreciated,
Thanks,
Walton

Walton, I would stick with the fridge.

Pollinia are bound to have some moisture in them, and I would thing that crystallization might do some damage. Maybe not extensive, but why risk it at all, especially if you're not going to be waiting all that long?

Thanks, Ray; your experience is much appreciated, as always, and I'll stick to the tried-and-familiar fridge.

Best regards,
Walton

I had a bumper crop of warszewiczella seedlings using one-year-old pollinia.
