Dear Brett,
you must notice that Mr. Yukawa is a botanist and went to Myanmar together with other botanist for analyzing some places there. He has other interests than you.
I wrote also some months ago to him whe I noticed the new described Doritis and get the article and pictures for writing an article about. I use the genusname Doritis because it was described as Doritis natmataungensis and Mr. Yukawa has an own definition of Doritis and he does not follow the way of Eric in classification.
Nobody did change the name officially to Phalaenopsis or Kingidium.

Best greetings

Olaf

Thank you Olaf

Yes, I am aware Dr. Yukawa has other interests and is a busy person. My comment was not meant to sound rude it thats the way you took it.

Thank you for your input on this species.

Brett

Don't trust this person.

You can see also that he used the picture from Mr. Yukawa, I think like always without a permission.
Here you can find the original picture on the page of Alain

http://www.phals.net/natmataungensis/10ph0205.jpg
You can find a lot of mailing about this person with different seller-names in the net.

Perhaps Alain will write to this dubious person. Some persons tried to stop him but without success.

Best greetings

Olaf

Well unless someone is willing to propagate what plants are in cultivation soon, it may well be gone. I live in Thailand and friend here have said that this species is already being pillaged. The military in Burma are known to endulge in plant smuggling I have been told, and have seen in my travels there. Seems anything is fair game to them.

For the sake of this species, I hope some can be preserved in the wild: http://www.kew.org/about-kew/press-media/press-releases-kew/orchid-epigenetics/index.htm
