Phal Pylo's Princess Star (Yungho Princess Gelb 'Huei Fong' x Star Of Dixie 'Riverside' HCC/AOS) First bloom seedling, blooming in community pot which is way overcrowded and in need of potting. I should have another seedling or two to flower this spring. I love the cross Peter, great work!

Looks like Star Of Dixie 'Riverside' is dominant in this one. I have a compot also but my plants are still small. Is it fragrant?

OK - I am now excited about another set of seedlings. Great job getting this/these seedlings to bloom.

Thanks guys, I like this flower a lot too and am hopeful it gets better in time. This is a very small plant in an overcrowded compot. Bob, yes this is lightly fragrant.

Two thumbs up, Mike. Can't wait to see the rest flower out.

Well, this 2nd plant to flower is not exactly to my liking. I am struggling to understand why the form is so thin given the parents used. This one needs a new home because it's not staying here. I do like the green color I can see from the YPG parent.

Thanks for posting this. It makes sense. Phal Golden Pride is a grandparent of this hybrid, and a parent of Star of Dixie. The shape of Phal fasciata came through in this hybrid.

I am seeing influence from grandparents in my hybrid. It's not always the immediate parents that can influence the look.

Found a 3rd plant in bud today, to flower next week sometime. It looks different slightly, very heavy and bolder bars/markings. I'll post it asap.

3rd plant to flower in this compot. Think this one is my favorite thus far.

Wow Mike. I agree. This one looks different..not the dense markings I would expect from Star of Dixie. Seedlings are fun to grow out. Each one is a surprise..good or bad. haha
