Posted this one plenty of times. Decided to post it again today because it is a great start of the Christmas season flower post. Also, this plant has had 2-3 pods on it in the last year and after this flower and the pod is gone, this plant is taking a break for awhile.
Ugh... why didn't I make more crosses with this?

That is another reason I'm giving it a break. I stemmed it, but they all died. I got 4 cultures, none of them contaminated, but they all just died over the next couple months. I shouldn't be stressing this plant when I don't have a backup.

argh. the petals are so much rounder. everytime i see this one, i wish i was there at that particular redlands. i totally missed out, and the plants from the new cross are mostly all yellow. i want one so much, i'm seriously thinking of remaking this one.

Do we know which clone of DTE and tetraspis was used? Maybe it was the red DTE and a red speciosa or tetraspis.

this would be a good question. i was thinking that in one cross, C1 was used as the pollen parent and as pod parent in the other.

If you aren't going to hang any pods, and if you have any pollen sitting around that you dont know what to do with, you know who to contact. ;)
