Flower shape is better with only 2 flowers per spike. With 5 flowers, they are less unfolded as they touch each other. But I will not be the one who is disappointed !

Love the contrasting lip. Dramatic. I have a C. labiata var coerulea that I grew from a small seedling. It bloomed last year and again this year, but the lip is the same color as the petals and sepals, and overall, the color is very washed out. You have a very special plant. Congrats!

Susie

Thank you Susie. ;)
Maybe yours is a coerulescens type.

I'm not disappointed either, Eric. Really beautiful with its dark lip. Is this the first time this plant has had so many flowers on an inflorescence?

Yes. 1flower in 2009, 2 flowers in 2010. 5 flowers this year, it's unusual for a labiata.
Thanks.

Very nice dark lip. Can you tell us the parentage or strain?
